Concert Band

Established in 2004, the AFB Concert Band has grown to nearly 85 members. The Concert Band’s concerts showcase a variety of themes and styles, such as opera, cinema, gay and lesbian composers, and African-American composers. Our concerts are funded, in part, by grants from the Georgia Council for the Arts and the Fulton County Arts Council.

In 2016 the Concert Band introduced the Student Composer Residency Project, including the premiere of a new work by a local student composer on each concert program. The program has attracted several compositions that have been well-received by the musicians and audiences.
