SUMMARY:2027 Tournament of Roses Parade
DESCRIPTION:LGBTQ+ History in the Making!\nA historic moment for our LGBTQ+
community will take place on New Year's Day.  Members of Atlanta Freedom
Bands are joining with our friends from 35 Pride Bands across the country
to form a massed marching band to appear in the Tournament of Rose Parade
 !  Over 300 musicians\, the largest LGBTQ+ band ever formed\, will turn t
he famous TV Corner as the first-ever group from our community to appear i
n the parade since its start 138 years ago!\n\nThe Rose Parade takes place
  on New Year’s Day\, January 1\, 2027\, in Pasadena\, California\, and i
s a prelude to the Rose Bowl Game®.  The parade is broadcast on major US
television networks and streaming platforms and to over 55 million people
in over seventy countries.  The theme for the 2027 parade is “Welcome
”.  According to the Association’s press release\, “The theme celeb
rates the simple joy of belonging—that feeling that you’re always welc
ome\, no matter who or where you are. It’s the warmth of family—whethe
r related or chosen\, the love of good friends\, and the welcoming embrace
of community.”\n\nThe massed band from Pride Bands Alliance will join
18 other marching bands from around the United States\, Mexico\, and Japan
\, who will appear in the parade.  The bands represent some of the best h
igh school\, college\, and military bands who will showcase their talents
in the 138th edition of the parade.  All the bands will present “BandFe
st” (a public performance by all the bands) and march in a parade on Mai
n Street at Disneyland in the days leading up to the parade.\n\n\nHow to S
upport the Effort:\nAll the member bands are engaged in a campaign to rais
e the money to create a new set of uniforms for the parade and cover the a
ll the logistical costs of managing a band that size in Pasadena for a wee
 k.  The goal is $300\,000 and we are at the $206\,000 mark.\n\nPlease don
ate to our fundraising campaign to help make this long-time dream become a
reality.  Donate Today\nWhere to Watch the Parade:\nThe parade starts at
11 AM EST on January 1\, 2027.  The massed band will be the personal ban
d of Tournament of Roses Parade President Terry Madigan.  This means that
we will be one of the first bands to appear\, so don't tune in late!  Se
veral channels and streaming platforms will carry the parade.  We recomme
nd:\n\nKTLA Band Cam: The Los Angeles NBC station streams the parade live\
, uninterrupted\, and commercial-free with a special emphasis on the march
ing bands.  The stream originates from their website ktla.com.  We recom
mend this option.\n\nNational Television Networks: NBC (WXIA Channel 11)\
, CBS (WUPA Channel 69)\, and ABC (WSB Channel 2) carry the parade each ye
ar. (Sometimes they cut to commercials during the band performances\, howe
 ver.)\n\nSmart TV Streams: Pluto TV\, Fubo\, Samsung TV.\n\n
